On the afternoon of Wednesday 17 February, I attended the For Purpose Summer School in Canberra. This was a three day professional development event for people working in the not-for-profit or for purpose sector. Key focus areas were communications, strategy development, and policy and advocacy.

The Summer School featured interactive skills development workshops and expert panel discussions, tackling issues and challenges relevant to for purpose professionals. Summer School attendees are now part of an alumni network with peers and leaders from around the country. It was nice to walk into the room for the first session and see some familiar faces (hello Jacqui and Fiona!) and meet new people who are making the world a better place.

All up, I attended four sessions over two afternoons. I’ll be blogging the other sessions soon, but below is a Storify covering the expert panel on Engaging Traditional Media.
