Here’s a nifty feature that a few of our customers have asked for recently – and we had a lot of fun building it: Member Forums.

memberforums

The Member Forums use CiviCRM Groups and Drupal User Roles to provide a special members-only area where people can talk through policy issues, discuss campaign ideas, share templates or fact sheets, or whatever else helps them to collaborate on their cause. The Pinterest-style layout is familiar and easy to use, and people can just “like” a post instead of having to post a comment saying “me too” when they just want to indicate that they agree.

Using an avatar or photo uploaded by the member to their website user account makes it easy to spot posts by a particular person you’re interested in, adds credibility, and helps build relationships between members who might rarely see each other face-to-face.
