Freeman says moving from a Windows desktop environment is often scoffed at as being too hard. “However, many Linux desktops [open source] provide a free Live CD-ROM, which allows you to run the complete Linux desktop [directly from the disc], without installing any software on your computer at all,” he says. “Try OpenSUSE (www.software.opensuse.org).

“Moving a small business to open-source software does not require radical changes.”
