Agileware were one of many local Canberra companies that proudly sponsored the 2012 Netball Carnival, Sunday 28th October 2012 for the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn. Our sponsorship provided hats for all the 1,300 school kids attending the Carnival, keeping them in the shade on what was warm and sunny day.

Justin Freeman (Agileware) volunteered along with many other parents, relatives and friends to work the BBQ, cake stall and other facilities available on the day. Volunteers were crucial to the successful planning and execution of the event. Many months of planning and meetings after hours went into this event. Feedback from parents and schools who attended has been extremely positive.

With 1,300 school kids, plus parents and teachers there was close to 3,000 people all up on the day. The Canberra’s Women’s Netball team the Canberra Darters even made an appearance and distributed posters and signed hats much to the excitement of the kids.

A total of $18,000 was raised for the local Primary School, St. Thomas Aquinas, West Belconnen. Fundraising events like these are essential to the financial viability of schools as Government funding falls well short of requirements.

Below are some photos of the day.
